What Are Hybrids?
A hybrid car is something that is able to mix the function of every type of engine. It is able to produce a lower amount of pollution and is considered to be more economical than the average car that is on the market. Although it shares a few things with electric cars it is much more powerful and easier for people to use.
Each hybrid is built with a fuel tank for the gasoline engine that is smaller and more efficient than the average type. It also uses an electric motor that is able to withdraw energy from batteries - which will power the car. When the car is moving at a slow speed it will charge the batteries.
Types Of Hybrids
There are two types of hybrid cars. The most common is the parallel hybrid - which is able to use either the electric motor or the gasoline engine in order to turn the transmission. Both the engine and the motor are linked to the transmission of the car.
The other type is the series hybrid car - which has just one electric motor that is linked directly to the transmission. In this type of hybrid the gasoline engine is used to charge the batteries - which help the car to function.
Features Of Hybrids
There are many features that make the hybrid popular among consumers. It is these features that we look forward to the most and that make it worth the money.
Regenerative Braking
Rather then using friction to stop the car it will use the electric motor. This uses extra kinetic energy that will charge the batteries and take hold of the energy that would usually be lost in the average car.
Temporary Engine Cut Off
Because a hybrid car has two types of engines in order to function is has the ability to shut off automatically the gas engine when the car is in idle. When this occurs it will use the electric engine to power the car. This feature helps you to save fuel.
