Good Gas Mileage Cars
Many people first bought their SUVs when the gas prices were low and although fuel efficiency and having high gas mileage cars was important it wasn’t the most important thing. But now that the gas prices are increasing and don’t seem to have an end in sight these people are trying to do everything that they can to get rid of these cars.
We have put together a list of the high gas mileage cars that are the cream of the crop. These are not in any specific order - but are some of the most popular vehicles that people would enjoy to drive. The fact they are considered to be fuel efficient is a great feature that makes them more appealing to us.
Ford Focus
The EPA for the Ford Focus is 24/35 in the city and 24/33 on the highway. It is not common for us to be able to find a domestic vehicle that is fuel efficient - but this is one exception. It is probably because it was designed by the Ford European division. Not only is this fuel efficient - but it is affordable and fun to drive.
Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec
The EPA rating for the Mercedes E320 Bluetec is 23/32 for both city and highway driving. This is the only diesel powered passenger vehicle that is available in the United States. This is mainly because not everyone is pleased with using a diesel because of the way that they smell. However, one test drive in this vehicle will change your mind fast. This fuel efficient car is powered by a 3 liter V6 power plant and has a fuel economy compared to that of a compact sedan.
Nissan Altima
The EPA rating for the Nissan Altima is 23/32 in the city and 23/31 on the highway. The fuel economy is compared to that of a small car - but this particular vehicle is far from small. It uses a 2.5 liter engine that delivers 180 pound feet of torque. It uses this along with a variable automatic transmission that helps to make it more powerful. This is a great car to drive, save money with, and perfect for small families or people who are single.
Toyota Camry Hybrid
The EPA rating for the Toyota Camry Hybrid is 33/34 for both city and highway driving. This vehicle uses some of the best hybrid technology and a whole new experience for driving. It uses a 2.4 liter engine and the usual tires. Not only has Toyota improved upon the fuel economy but have also spruced up the design when compared to the older models.
Toyota Corolla
The EPA rating for the Toyota Corolla is 26/35 in the city and 27/35 on the highway. There are many hybrids that roll out from Toyota that it can be easy for us to overlook the Corolla. Although it uses a smaller 1.8 liter engine it has a brand new design and gets some of the best in fuel economy.
